Day 24
That morning I started driving to my next location. I arrived at Open Pond Recreation Area mid afternoon. It was a hard location to find, since google maps took me to the wrong entrance.
Driving into the pond area it was heavily wooded. There was a pay box for day use. I drove around the pond where a few people were fishing off the side. I came to the camping sign where I paid for one night and my day fee.
I set up shop about 3 yards from the pond on a tent platform. It was a quiet little campground even though the majority of the sites were full. It had a nice private shower with plenty of hot water.

I showered up and setup my tent and made some food. I had very poor signal and I was on a deadline to get Kelly’s website finished. I searched for nearby Starbucks, but none within 50 miles. The closest option would have been a McDonald’s about 30 minutes away. I decided it could wait until the next day.
That night I spent some time listening to my audio book enjoying the night sky and warm temps. I kept the rain fly off. It only got down to the mid 60’s. Perfect.
In the morning I took another long shower, cleaned up camp, made some breakfast, then hit the road. Off towards Panama City, FL!
