Sedona, AZ
Day 17
I had planned to stay in Flagstaff for a few days, but since my camping area was full of smoke I improvised. I headed to Sedona, AZ because my sister said it was a good place to see. The town is really cool, and the forest/mountain/desert is beautiful. I stopped at a Starbucks to get caught up on my journal, drink some coffee, and create a game plan. Now it’s time to start the journey towards the Keys!

After a few hours at Starbucks I continued on the road. I headed towards Phoenix, AZ where I found a bar called The Whining Pig to watch Game 7 of the World Series. They didn’t serve food so I called in an order to Tex-AZ to get some chicken fried steak. The food wasn’t very good.
I spent a few hours in the bar watching the game and drinking a bit. There were a bunch of Cubs fans (for whatever reason) in the bar, I think I was the only Cleveland fan. It was an ugly game until we tied it up with that home run. At that point I leapt out of my seat in joy as the other 20 people looked at me with disgust. It was a shame that we ended up losing. Good thing the Cavs just won the championship, or else that would have been potentially the most devastating loss in Cleveland sports history.
After the game I continued heading south. I made it to Tucson where I found a Hampton Inn parking lot to sleep for the night. Two nights in a row in the jeep.
